This is the official FluView Influenza-Like Illness Activity mobile application created by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

With this application, you can:

- Explore Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) Activity Levels across the US
- View ILI trends over several weeks
- Get on-demand access to state health department websites for local surveillance information

One of seven FluView surveillance components is to track information received from the U.S. Outpatient Influenza-like Illness Surveillance Network (ILINet). This application displays ILI activity levels based on the percent of outpatient visits in a jurisdiction due to ILI compared to the average percent of ILI visits that occur during weeks with little or no influenza virus circulation (non-influenza weeks). ILINet consists of more than 3,000 health care providers in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands reporting more than 30 million patient visits each year.

Latest reviews of FluView app for iPhone and iPad

Doesnt have current data
The app wont download data and update itself. Maybe it needs to be connected via WiFi, but as it is the app just shows data from May, 6 months ago. Not exactly useful. CDC - please, if youre going to release software, at least make sure that it works. This stuff is important.
Its Free!
Its free and its from the CDC. Need I say more? Accurate fast efficient way to track flu infections wherever you are wether its traveling for work, or at home with family. I can use this app to get that quick heads up to be extra cautious and stock up on sanitizer so maybe just maybe this year will be another flu free year for me and my family. In short, excellent app to quickly view flu trends in any area straight from the most accurate source - The Center For Disease Control- Bottom line, download this free app and arm yourself this flu season with one more tool to keep you and your family healthy. 5 Stars Thank You for this very resourceful app!
Useless
You get want u pay for. On an iPhone there is no zoom and a lot of it is TOO small to read. Very poorly designed app. I ended up deleting it
Yes, you can zoom in!
At least on the iPhone 5.. You can also see how the flu has progressed in your state over a 3 week period. Tapping on a state takes you to the appropriate health department page for that state, which gives you further information on the virus for that area along with helpful general information. You can zoom in on both the map, and color coded legend. Easy to use simplistic design!
Typical govt. program
Doesnt work! Data doesnt update. Fix it or withdrawal it from the App Store!
